Benefit Boutique Paddington

After my fantastic day at the Maxted Thomas Beauty Blogger Event I didn’t think it could get any better. But I was 100% wrong as I climbed into the bus that was to take myself, Ann-Alyce and some other bloggers down to the Benefit Boutique on Oxford St, Paddington for an experience at their famous Brow Bar.

The boutique was buzzing when we arrived; girls being waxed, tinted and primped everywhere. There is always such a great atmosphere at the Benefit boutiques/beauty bars, with Sunday evening being no exception. ABBA tunes and the Grease soundtrack were pumping as fruit platters, mineral water and my favourite, cupcakes were passed around.

The services on offer were full lash strip application, eyebrow tint and eyebrow shape (wax). I find my eyebrows dark enough so opted instead for a wax and a lash strip application. I’d had my eyebrows done at the Benefit Bar before so knew to expect a great shape. My eyebrows were ‘mapped’ to determine where the best natural arch should be, and also where my eyebrow should end (on the angle from the outer edge of your eye.) They stopped short of the mark but luckily I have some sneaky tricks to lengthen them out. My fave Brows-a-Go-Go, Imma lookin’ at you!

Gettin' shaped.

The waxing process is swift and barely painful, with results I’ve loved 100% of the time. Yes, statistically, that’s a 50% chance of loving it, but try it out and you’ll see!

Or see a close up here, and tell me what you think (Brows have been groomed with Brows-a-Go-Go):

Was hoping for better quality picture, but there's only so many webcam shots you can take of yourself in public before people start staring at you with contempt for you narcissistic ways...

Lashed up and loving the cupcakes. Thanks for a fabulous afternoon Benefit!

Best ending to a great day!

Do YOU love the Benefit Brow Bar?

Oh la la your brows looks marvellous! I am tres jealous. Unfortunately living in Adelaide means that I don’t have a Benefit Boutique within reach…So I’ve never experienced their wondrous brow work (and to make matters more depressing, I’ve only had bad experiences with brow shaping – they always come out too thin and once I left with a gnarly pimply rash after the therapist used a particularly strong product. Boo!). I’m visiting Melbourne in a couple of weeks, can you recommend a brow bar Holly? Thanks x

Sure can! Benefit have a brow bar in both the CBD and Chadstone Myer! Depending on when you are visiting Melbourne (eg. weekend vs weekday) I would ring ahead and book. While they do say Walk-in Service I have found them on a few occasions to be booked out, especially on Fridays. I wouldn’t worry about your brows turning out too thin, Benefit are all about thick, perfectly arched brows – you’ll love it! Let me know how you go x

      Hi Holly,
It was a real pleasure to meet with you and I look forward to seeing you again. Maybe in Melbourne when we open the new expanded Benefit browbar and the Benefit PRETTY ROOM at Myer, where you can get a bikini wax or a spray tan! Sunday was so much fun, and thanks for the opportunity to show you our brand, boutique and some of our quick fix beauty solutions and services! Congratulations on your blog, I truly enjoy reading it. Justin/benefit team x

        Hi Justin,
It was a pleasure to meet you also! I had such a fantastic time at the Boutique, and can’t wait to see the re-vamp at Myer – so exciting!
        Holly x

Thanks so much Holly, I’m there over the weekend so I’ll be sure to book – don’t want to miss out! It sounds like a wonderful experience, I really can’t wait! And of course I’ll let you know how I go.
Just quietly, this will be my first trip to Melbs (shocking, right?) so can you recommend any other must do’s while I’m there (I’m talking best cupcake shop? Best mani/pedi bar)?! x

Ooo best cupcake shop well when I’m in the area (live further down the coast rather than directly in Melb) I pop into Melbourne Central (great for shopping also) and go to The Cupcake Bakery which have a great range of all different flavours – too delicious! As for nails… never had them done in the city so I can’t help you sorry! I say go to Twitter for that one, I’m sure people will have some great advice! Enjoy your stay 🙂
